The Dark Hours

Tonight I saw “The Dark Hours”, a psychological thriller with more than it’s share of Crodenbergesque tones. While it was an excellent film, and I really enjoyed it, I was most surprised by the feeling of claustrophobia I felt on the way back.

The transit system felt confining and crowded to the extent I was almost a little panicked. It wasn’t until I began to rationalize that there were no more people (probably less) than at any of the other dozens of times I’ve traveled the same stretch that the feeling began to subside. I can’t help think about the “brain priming” experiments mentioned in Blink. That’s what I call getting wrapped up in a movie.
