Standard RSS Feed Icon

Over at his site Matt Brett has posted Illustrator and Photoshop versions of the Firefox RSS feed icon that has now been standardized by it’s inclusion in the next version of Internet Explorer. This give site developers a chance to customize a version to fit into the design of their site, while still keeping with the iconography of the standard. This should go a long way to creating a visual definition for a service that most of the population has yet to fully grasp.

The truth be told when I first read the announcement that IE was going to use the same icon I simply thought “how nice”. Matt’s post was like a slap across the face with a fish for me. Be sure to look for me adding to the this page sometime this week.

** Update **

Matt’s taken things one step further and created feedicons.com to allow for one stop feed icon shopping. The package still includes the Illustrator button, but I highly recommend the Photoshop buttons and following the instructions in the read me file. He says it’s the second best option, but it looks great by my eyes, and it couldn’t be easier.

I’ve updated the link below to point to the new location.
