Don’t you hate it when [more]

Hogg’s had it, and won’t subscribe to RSS feeds that only syndicate excerpts. Although he is going to send them an email, and give them a chance to repent, I suspect he’s going to lose a feed or two in the end.

I’m not entirely against the excerpt myself, and I guess monetization is the primary reason for using it, but make sure your excerpts are long enough to be useful. I’ve dropped feeds in the past that only ran the first line of the story. Unless you are Charles Dickens, one line probably won’t be enough to get anyone’s attention.

Have to agree…..if they must, they can excerpt, but at least make it a useful excerpt.

One has to question what the finished end result of all of this could be - that said, superb viewpoints once more on this topic - and your webblog continues to be a first class supplier of details.
